Avant Signs Exclusive Agreement with SatSense to Deliver InSAR Monitoring to NZ for Residential and Civil

Updated: 1 day ago

14 August 2025 – Auckland, New Zealand Avant Global Ltd has entered into an exclusive partnership with UK-based InSAR specialist SatSense to launch LandSure – a New Zealand based monitoring and reporting platform for New Zealand’s residential and civil markets.

The partnership between Avant and SatSense gives a continuous ten-year archive of ground-movement measurements collected by the European Space Agency’s Sentinel-1 satellites. These satellites operate C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensors capable of detecting surface movement down to millimetre precision, regardless of cloud cover or daylight.

SatSense analyses data that is captured on both ascending and descending passes every 12 days, enabling consistent nationwide monitoring. SatSense’s country-wide InSAR dataset, already used by Earth Sciences New Zealand (formerly GNS Science) is then supercharged, with Avant adding processing workflows that classify movement patterns, assign clear risk ratings, and generate site-specific visual reports suitable for both residential property assessment and civil infrastructure management.

For residential users, this new partnership means an exact property-level insight into historical and ongoing land movement, helping with risk assessment, insurance decisions, and long-term planning. In the civil sector, the same dataset supports infrastructure monitoring, construction oversight, and geotechnical planning. For more information on SatSense, see their link HERE
